Trespassing man found with methamphetamine | Federal Way Police Blotter

The following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

Trespassing man found with meth: At 9:09 a.m., Jan. 4, in the 2000 block of Southwest 336th Street, an employee at a business reported a man was possibly doing drugs in the bathroom and requested he be banned from the business if located. Upon arrival, officers found a person matching the suspect’s description outside of Safeway, and it was determined he had an outstanding warrant out of King County. The suspect was arrested. He was issued a trespass notice from Rite Aid and Safeway stores and booked into SCORE Jail. While at SCORE, a small bag containing a white crystal substance was found in the man’s possession. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine, and it was booked into evidence.

Drugs found on shoplifter: At 5:53 p.m., Jan. 4, in the 100 block of Southwest Campus Drive, Winco Loss Prevention contacted police about a person who was concealing items. The subject was found to have a theft warrant out of Auburn and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and heroin. The subject was transported to SCORE Jail but was not booked because of a medical complaint. The suspect was then transported to a hospital emergency room and released. Auburn police were notified.

“Acting a fool”: At 9:07 a.m., Jan. 3, an employee at Sherwood Elementary School, reported there was some concern over a student’s father because of an incident that took place at a church, where the father brought a gun and “acted like a fool.” The employee reported the student’s mother texted her about removing the father’s name from the child’s pick-up list. No threats were made to anyone, and the employee said she would call again if additional information is received by the mother.

Inhospitable guest: At 9:22, Jan. 3, a person in the 1000 block of South 328th Street told police he rented a room at a local motel and allowed a non-paying guest to share his room. The victim said he saw the guest taking a bath, but when he went into the parking lot in the morning, he found his car was missing. He returned to his room and discovered his guest and his car keys were also missing. Police had no leads on the suspect’s name.

Struck with art: At 1:11 a.m. on Jan. 2 in the 33000 block of 36th Avenue Southwest, a suspect struck a victim in the head with a wooden art easel after an argument on New Year’s Eve. The victim sustained minor bruising and cuts to their forehead.

A garden surprise: At 10:57 a.m. on Jan. 2 in the 1200 block of Southwest 326th Place, a man reported finding a pistol sitting in his flower bed at the front of his home. Police investigated and determined it was an airsoft BB gun, which was booked into evidence with no known owners.

Gun-toting man chases person: At 11:55 a.m. on Jan. 2 in the 27600 block of Pacific Highway South, an unknown suspect with two handguns was seen on video surveillance footage chasing another unknown person through the Silver Shadow parking lot. A third subject later entered the area and met with the man with the guns. No crimes were reported, nor were there weapons or illegal gun fire calls around the time of the video surveillance.

Business owners mad at transients: At 1:02 p.m. on Jan. 2 in the 31100 block of Pacific Highway South, “irate” business owners notified officers to the increased transient activity in the area. The building has sat vacant for some time and has attracted transients over the years. Police contacted five individuals who do not own the land nor have “any reason to be there,” and they left with no problems. Officers noticed a large amount of trash, broken glass and graffiti in the area. City code enforcement will be called to notify the land owner of the debris.

Boy caught with sword: At 7:59 a.m. on Jan. 1 in the 31600 block of 40th Avenue Southwest, police contacted a boy after a passerby reported he was walking with a stick, but the boy was actually carrying a “sheathed katana sword.” The sword was booked into safekeeping after police took the boy to his mother, who told officers she didn’t want it in her home. The boy said he got it from his father.

Threesome steals Lovers items: At 6:21 p.m. on Jan. 1 in the 1400 block of South 348th Street, two women and one man stole several items from Lovers. After entering the store, the suspects grabbed the items and would not separate when approached by employees. The suspects ignored requests to leave and when the employees said they were going to call police, they walked out of the store with the unpaid merchandise.

Masked suspects steal wallet: At 7:41 p.m. on Jan. 1 in the 33000 block of 10th Avenue Southwest, a victim reported three unknown suspects in ski masks demanded he hand over his property. The victim feared for his life, so he gave them his wallet before they fled from the location. Police coudn’t find the suspects in the area.

Baby dies at three months: At 5:59 p.m. on Dec. 31 in the 35700 block of 16th Avenue South, police responded to the scene of an unresponsive 3-month-old who was pronounced deceased. Police forwarded the case to the investigations unit.

Suspicious gift cards: At 4:37 p.m., Dec. 31, in the 31000 block of 23rd Avenue South, a man reported giving his bank information to a person who sold him gift cards over the phone. The man was worried the person might access his bank account without his permission. Police helped the man call his bank to have his ATM card suspended. No other information was available on the caller or the gift cards.
