Suspect in Federal Way fatal shootings arrested in Kennewick

Police arrested a Federal Way man on Saturday who is suspected of killing two men in a recent shooting spree in Federal Way and Des Moines.

Police arrested a Federal Way man on Saturday who is suspected of killing two men in a recent shooting spree in Federal Way and Des Moines.

Bernard Bellerouche, 28, was arrested in Kennewick, Wash. on Saturday without incident and booked into Benton County Jail, according to a press release from the Federal Way Police Department.

Police consider Bellerouche a suspect in the homicide shooting that occurred in Federal Way on May 7 at the Silver Shadow Apartments. The shooting killed Demario Washington, 27, who died of a gunshot would to the head.

Bellerouche is also a person of interest in a second homicide shooting that happened on May 13 in Federal Way at the Mariposa Apartments. Active duty Marine George J. Gabriel, 22, who was on military leave, was shot and killed during that shooting.

Bellerouche is also considered a person of interest in the Des Moines shooting that occurred on May 12 and injured a 28-year-old man, who was shot in an uninvolved vehicle.

Saturday’s arrest and search warrant was a joint operation of the US Marshals, Federal Way police detectives and Kennewick Police Department.
