Federal Way school board narrows candidates for vacant board seat to 5

The Federal Way Public Schools board of directors selected five of the 12 candidates for the District 5 board seat during a work study on Thursday.

District spokeswoman Debra Stenberg said the meeting notice was posted to the district’s website in compliance with the 24 hour minimum notice requirement.

The board will interview the applicants for the seat on June 3 during a session open to the public beginning at 5 p.m. at the district’s Educational Service Center, 33330 Eighth Ave. S., Federal Way.

The five candidates the board has invited to participate in the interview process are: Jeremy Cucco, Hiroshi Eto, Shelley Ko Tanaya Lanning and Richard Champion.
