The first homicide of two on Saturday, May 3, is still under investigation, and not much about what happened is known yet, according to the Federal Way Police Department.
According to FWPD Cmdr. Kyle Buchanan, the department received a call at 4:22 p.m. about a shooting at Uptown Square Apartments, 1066 South 320th Street. Buchanan said there was an argument between two groups of people that led to one subject being shot.
According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, the deceased was Javier Garcia, 20. His cause of death was a gunshot wound of the chest, and his manner of death was a homicide.
Buchanan said Garcia had a Seattle address. He said there are no persons of interest yet.
This homicide was the first of two on May 3. There was a second homicide that occurred at 11:04 p.m. at the Cove Apartment Homes, 33131 1st Avenue Southwest. Buchanan said these two homicides are not related, and the department does not believe there is any threat to the public.
Buchanan said the Uptown Square Apartments homicide is still under investigation. He said not as much is known about the Uptown Square Apartments murder as the Cove Apartment Homes murder.
