Police detain five suspects in home invasion robbery

From the Federal Way Police Department:

At 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Federal Way police were called to the 500 block of S. 330th Place for a report of a home invasion robbery. The reporting party/victim indicated several subjects forced entry into the home at the location and assaulted the one of the victims.

The armed suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and headed southbound on Meridian toward Puyallup. The adult male victim chased the suspect vehicle.

During the chase, the victim contacted a Pierce County deputy to advise he had been robbed. The fleeing suspect vehicle later crashed on Meridian just north of Puyallup. Pierce County conducted a K9 track leading to the apprehension of five suspects.

The suspects are identified as two adult females, one adult male, and a juvenile male and female (residences not determined at this time).

All suspects were transported to the Federal Way Police Department for further investigation. Victims in the residence were an adult male, an adult female and two children. There were no injuries to any victims, except the initial assault, which did not result in serious injury.

This incident does not appear to be random; however, the relationship between the parties has not been determined. A motive for the robbery has not been determined at this time. More information will be available today.
