Plea deal in death of shaken baby
Christopher Temple, 18, pleaded guilty March 7 to murder in the second degree in the death of his infant son, Aiden Andrews, whom he is accused of shaking to death on Aug. 9, 2007.
The child was in Temple’s custody when he shook him for approximately three to five seconds and hit his head against a car seat, according to Temple’s plea agreement. Temple did not mean to cause the infant harm, according to his plea agreement.
Temple’s sentencing date is set for March 28. Prosecutors are expected to recommend he spend 102 months in jail and attend parenting classes. The crime holds a maximum punishment of life in jail and a $50,000 fine, according to the plea agreement.

Downtown high-rises
The city will present illustration boards on the Symphony park project design at 6 p.m. March 18 at City Hall, 33325 8th Ave. S.
City staff will be present to share early concepts of the design for the almost 1-acre park. Following this, a formal presentation from the landscape architects doing the design and a public comment session will take place at that night’s city council meeting, beginning at 7 p.m.

Battle of the Books
The Federal Way School District will host a Battle of the Books competition at 7 p.m. March 27 at Decatur High School, 2800 S.W. 320th St. Elementary school students will work in teams to answer 25 questions about books. Graffiti technician wanted
Federal Way is seeking a temporary graffiti technician to investigate graffiti complaints and take appropriate action to ensure compliance with the city’s graffiti ordinance.
Candidates must be available to work up to 20 hours per week, have graduated from high school or have an equivalent education, possess the knowledge or ability to learn painting techniques and be willing to perform graffiti removal work in the outdoors.

SAT prep class
Federal Way High School and the PTSA will host an SAT prep class from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 11 through April 24.

Lions hold annual Easter Egg Hunt
The Federal Way Noon Lions Club will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 9 a.m. March 22 at Steel Lake Park, 2410 S 312th St. More than 4,500 candy eggs will be scattered throughout the grounds along with special prize eggs.
