Drunk man sleeps in front of restaurant: At 5 p.m. on June 6 in the 16300 block of South 312th Street, a witness reported a man asleep in front of a restaurant. Police found the man unconscious and smelling of alcohol. He was responsive after a few minutes but was unable to stand on his own. He has no known family or living address and was unable to take care of himself. Because the victim has a history of alcoholism, he was taken to St. Francis Hospital for an evaluation by American Medical Response.

Disoriented woman at Wild Waves: At 5:28 p.m. on June 6 in the 3600 block of Enchanted Parkway South, police responded after customers at Wild Waves informed police of a woman who was disoriented in the parking lot. The woman couldn’t answer officers’ questions and displayed “poor motor skills.” Because she was incoherent, she was taken to St. Francis Hospital.

Shots reported, shell casings found: At 11:15 p.m. on June 6 in the 33200 block of 26th Avenue Southwest, witnesses reported gunshots. Police arrived and found two .45-caliber shell casings in the road. A silver four-door sedan is suspected of holding the suspects, but police could not locate it.

Son missing, was in fight: At 11:50 p.m. on June 6 in the 27400 block of Pacific Highway South, a mother called police to report her missing son. She told police she was scared for her son because he had recently gotten into a fight with another male and the male’s uncle was now looking for him. She said her son is a heroin user and his last known location was in Des Moines. Police advised she contact Des Moines police, but she asked if police would “keep an eye out for him” and arrest him on his warrant so he would be “off the streets.”

Shell found in apartment complex: At 5:30 p.m. on June 7 in the 32000 block of 11th Place South, officers responded to apartments near Celebration Park and spoke to the apartment manager who reported hearing that residents had heard gunshots in the complex on Sunday. The manager found a single round near mailboxes and gave it to police. The .40-caliber shell appeared to be smashed or flattened, and police booked it into evidence.

Blanketed woman returned to care home: At 7:50 a.m. on June 8 in the 32900 block of 6th Avenue Southwest, a witness requested police check on a woman wandering the street with a blanket. Police identified the woman as someone who has a history of walking away from her residence at an adult care home. Officers returned the woman, who was not injured, and the case was closed.

Man trashes stash: At 2:54 p.m. on June 8 at 34819 Pacific Highway S., McDonald’s employees called police to report that a male had walked into the women’s restroom to dispose of drug paraphernalia. Officers found a drug kit in a trash can that contained drug paraphernalia and suspected heroin. Police could not find fingerprints on the drug test kit and the items were booked for destruction.

Man suicidal, cites YouTube comments: At 6:42 p.m. on June 9 in the 30200 block of 11th Place South, officers responded to a residence after a male made suicidal statements to his mother. The victim said he was depressed because of YouTube defamation and was upset about his YouTube career. His mother said he got a shotgun, placed it in his mouth and said he was going to kill himself in front of her. His mother told police he’s made suicidal statements in the past and she believes he is bipolar but undiagnosed. Police found the shotgun at the residence and submitted it for safekeeping.

Woman leaving state, man threatens her: At 8:01 a.m. on June 10 in the 100 block of Southwest 332nd Street, a woman told police that she left her live-in boyfriend, who is the father of her unborn child, after he had an affair. She informed him she would be moving to Texas, and the boyfriend began sending threatening text messages stating he would physically prevent her from moving away. The woman reported that he’d been physically abusive in the past but that she hadn’t reported it, and she said that she was reporting the texts to make sure she had evidence on file for when she obtained a protection order in Texas.

Man spits on officers, gets arrested: At 2:29 a.m. on June 11 in the 33000 block of 30th Avenue Southwest, officers responded to reports of a domestic dispute. During the contact, the male spat on the officers. He was arrested for third-degree assault.

Verizon store burgled: At 8:46 a.m. on June 11 at 35007 Enchanted Parkway S., police were called to investigate a burglary. Overnight, someone gained access to the Verizon store and attempted to pry open a safe, which contains expensive electronics and is located in a locked back room. There was no evidence of how the suspect had entered the store and police did not respond the previous night to an alarm.

“Smitty” tagged in neighborhood: At 11:36 a.m. on June 11 in the 30000 block of 36th Court Southwest, police were called to receive a report of overnight graffiti. A neighbor reported that the graffiti contained the word “Smitty” but was unsure if the script was gang-related. Another neighbor took pictures of the graffiti, which officers requested be sent to them, and the neighbors requested additional patrols in the area.
