Nov. 21

There were at least 8 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 5 vehicles were recovered.

Gas station robbery: Around 6:45 p.m. in the 1600 block of Southwest 312th Street, officers were dispatched to a shoplift that took place at the gas station there. After investigating, police discovered it had actually been a robbery.

Residential burglary: Officers responded to a burglary alarm at a residence sometime between 5 p.m. and 1:31 a.m. They discovered a forced entry on an exterior gate and door to the residence, but did not locate a suspect.

Assault on police: While contacting a male with a felony warrant, an officer was struck in the head, but was not injured. The suspect broke free and fled.

Robbery at gunpoint: A victim was sitting in her vehicle counting $1,500 in cash in order to purchase a money order when an unidentified suspect pointed a gun at her and demanded the money. The suspect then fled on foot. The incident occurred near the 1600 block of Southwest Campus Drive.

Forgotten handgun: A handgun was accidentally left in the restroom at a business near the 31800 block of Pacific Highway South, but was returned to its owner without incident.

Assault with knife: At approximately 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing victim at St. Francis Hospital.

Nov. 22

There were at least 6 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.

Attempted robbery and car theft: At approximately 10:40 a.m. an officer was dispatched to a report of an attempted strong-arm robbery near the 1400 block of South 348th Street. Attempted vehicle theft is listed as an additional offense.

Shoplifter booked: After stealing from Target in the Commons Mall, an individual was detained and booked into jail for a warrant. Charges for theft and obstruction to follow.

Kitten fraud: A victim sent a $100 down payment for a kitten to a seller they found through Facebook. When they arrived to pick up the kitten, the address was fake and they found that the profile they had contacted had since been deleted.

Nov. 23

There were at least 2 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 3 vehicles were recovered.

Carjacking: At approximately 4:50 a.m., officers responded to a carjacking at gunpoint near the 160 block of Southwest Campus Drive. The suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle.

Grocery store fight: A victim reported being strangled by a friend in a grocery store near the 28600 block of 25th Place South. The victim refused to be transported for her injuries and the suspect was not located.

Residential burglary: Officers were dispatched sometime between midnight and 8 a.m. to a residential burglary near the 33300 block of 43rd Avenue Southwest. There is no suspect information or CCTV at this time.

Weapons offense: At approximately 6:30 p.m. a weapon was displayed to a victim following an interaction on the roadway. The incident occurred near the 2400 block of South 288th Street and the suspect was identified and arrested.

Nov. 24

There were at least 5 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.

Nonresidential burglary: At around 10 p.m., two suspects stole food, jewelry and purses at a restaurant on South 336th Street. The total value of stolen items was approximately $17,070 and the suspects were recorded on CCTV committing the crime.

Alarm scares burglar: At approximately 1:55 a.m., an unknown subject pried open the door to a business located near the 2000 block of Southwest Campus Drive. When the alarm sounded, the suspect fled without stealing anything.

Garbage fire: Officers responded to a report of two garbage cans on fire around 10:36 a.m. to conduct an arson investigation. The incident occurred near the 31500 block of Pete von Reichbauer Way South.

Box truck stolen: An employee at a self-storage facility reported that an unknown suspect stole one of the box trucks that the facility has available for customers to rent.

Nov. 25

There were at least 3 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 1 vehicle was recovered.

Car stolen while warming up: A victim left their car running with the keys in it around 7:35 a.m. to let it warm up. It was stolen within five minutes. Police records mention that CCTV showed a male “frolic” across the street and steal the vehicle.

Sex offense: Two victims came forward to report offenses by the same subject. During interviewing, it was determined they were assaulted in nearby cities, not within Federal Way.

Nov. 26

There were at least 2 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 4 vehicles were recovered.

Residential burglary of firearms: Around 4:45 p.m. a suspect made unlawful entry into a victim’s residence while he was out of state. The suspect stole several firearms and a wheelbarrow that was used to transport the weapons.

Juvenile shoplifters: A juvenile employee of a retail business is suspected of using an unauthorized key to open cabinets containing expensive electronics with the help of three accomplices. They stole over $5,000 worth of merchandise.

Weapons offense: In an argument over a parking spot around 4:30 p.m., a victim was threatened and argued with by an unknown subject with a box cutter near the 34500 block of 16th Avenue South.

Street robbery: A victim was punched and shoved to the ground while his backpack and wallet were taken from him around 7 p.m. near the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South.

Gun pulled after card declines: An employee at a coffee stand stated that sometime around 9:30 p.m., a customer at a coffee stand pulled out a handgun after their payment method failed. The reporting party stated that they were not threatened with the gun and declined to press charges.

Stolen handgun: At approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a call that a handgun had been stolen. The suspect had reportedly pointed and fired the gun at the victim, but the victim was able to dodge the bullet. The suspect was gone on arrival.

Nov. 27

There were at least 7 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 3 vehicles were recovered.

Nonresidential burglary: A subject wearing all black used a rock to break a glass door and enter a business around 1:45 a.m. The business is located near the 31200 block of Pacific Highway South.

Cooking fire lit: Officers contacted a man near the 31200 block of Pacific Highway South who was observed starting a fire on the sidewalk. He put the fire out shortly after and admitted to starting a fire to cook food. The fire was not close enough to any building to be a danger, according to police.

Large machinery stolen: Sometime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., a construction excavator was reported stolen from a work site near South Star Lake Road and Military Road South.

Nov. 28

There were at least 2 reports of vehicle theft or attempted vehicle theft on this day and 2 vehicles were recovered.

Attempted burglary with vehicle: A business was rammed with a vehicle around 4 a.m. while an employee was still inside the store. The business is located near the 2500 block of South 320th Street and the suspects fled when they saw the employee.

DUI arrest: At approximately 9 a.m. near the 35600 block of Pacific Highway South, a driver was arrested for driving under the influence. The driver’s license had already been suspended.

Medical emergency leads to crash: Officers responded to a minor vehicle collision and CPR in progress around 1 p.m. near the 32000 block of 11th Place South. The driver of the vehicle appeared to have had a fatal medical emergency while operating the vehicle, causing the collision. No other vehicles were involved and there was no other damage.

Vehicle theft interrupted: When a car owner heard their car alarm going off around 5 p.m., they interrupted an attempted theft by yelling at the suspects. The suspects became angry and kicked the front door of the person’s residence, then fled the location near the 32400 block of 12th Avenue Southwest.
