Jet Cities Chorus hosts Sweetie Pie Social

About 150 attendees enjoyed performances and delicious pies on Feb. 25.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Jet Cities Chorus recently held its 18th annual Sweetie Pie Social fundraiser.

Approximately 150 attendees got to enjoy sweet sounds of the chorus and delicious pies, offered in varieties by the dozen, at Todd Beamer High School on Feb. 25.

Jet Cities Chorus raised about $1,500 on this event, though the final total is still being tallied, said Anna Chamberlain, Jet Cities team manager. These funds are part of the chorus’ operating funds for the year, which cover expenses such as the director, music purchases, coaching fees and rehearsal space rental, among other expenses.

Taking the stage, Jet Cities Chorus, TouchStone Quartet and Upward Bound in the Fifth Dimension Quartet all performed at the event in the barbershop style, 4-part a cappella.

Some of the tunes include “Cuddle Up a Little Closer” by Doris Day, “Seasons of Love” by Jonathan Larson, and “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” by Justin Timberlake.
