Jerry Galland, longtime activist and a primary candidate for South King Fire and Rescue fire commissioner, has announced he is seeking office as a write-in candidate for fire commissioner, Position 2 in the general election.

Galland said he vows to continue representing the taxpayers and citizens of the district in every aspect while helping to maintain the excellent services the district deserves.

“If the taxpayers of the district expect any sincere accountable oversight of their millions in dollars spent for emergency fire protection, [I am] the only choice,” Galland wrote in a media release.

Running on the platform of open government and a responsible fire department, Galland said he represents the only candidate with years of volunteer experience with the district.
