Four new Federal Way police officers sworn in

Chief of Police Andy Hwang introduced the four newest members of the Federal Way Police Department to the City Council and the public on Tuesday night.

Mayor Jim Ferrell administered the oath of office to the four officers: RB Blackshear, William Lemmon, Clint March and Andrew Sederberg.

Blackshear grew up in Maryland and served in the Army National Guard where he was a squad leader with a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and high-yield Explosives Response Team. He was previously employed at the Federal Detention Center in Des Moines. He joined the Federal Way Police Department in December 2013 and graduated from the basic police academy in June.

Lemmon grew up in the Seattle area and has a bachelor’s degree from Western Washington University. He was previously employed in security at the Space Needle. He joined the Federal Way Police Department in November 2013 and graduated from the basic police academy in June.

March grew up in Colville and Spokane. He served in the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division where he was a sergeant. He served a combat tour in Afghanistan. He joined Federal Way in January and graduated No. 2 overall from the basic police academy in August.

Sederberg grew up in Wisconsin. He came to Federal Way as an experienced police officer from the city of West Bend. He played college volleyball and continues playing for fun in his spare time.

He joined the Federal Way Police Department in August and graduated from the Washington equivalency academy in October.
