Fire chief Al Church honored

The Municipal League of King County named eight individuals and three organizations to receive its 50th annual Civic Awards for outstanding contributions to the community.

A ceremony will be held March 25 at the Seattle Art Museum’s downtown location. Among the honorees is Allen Church, fire chief/administrator for South King Fire and Rescue, who was named Public Employee of the Year. The award goes to an employee of a public body who has brought to the particular service outstanding innovations or constructive programs, according to the Municipal League.
