Federal Way’s We Love Our City hosts annual Serve Day

Approximately 200 volunteers participated on July 9.

Federal Way nonprofit We Love Our City hosted its annual Serve Day on July 9.

A team of approximately 200 volunteers from local churches, friends, family, businesses and other nonprofits partnered to serve at a variety of locations throughout the Federal Way community, including the Federal Way Boys and Girls Club and the Light of Christ Community Garden.

Volunteers gathered at the PAEC to say a prayer for the city, then divided into teams to help with landscaping and weeding, trash pickup and more. All attendees were encouraged to gather at the Federal Way Farmers Market for lunch and shopping once the tasks were completed.

One team created and hosted a fun kids’ booth with activities and a scavenger hunt. The winner gets a ride on a South King Fire and Rescue fire engine.
