Federal Way library to host Flavors of the World cultural fair

Flavors of the World cultural fair will run 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Federal Way Regional Library, 34200 1st Ave. S.

Federal Way residents and library users will be greeted with Latin American music by Los Flacos. Colorful tables will be set up throughout the building featuring a range of ethnic and cultural groups displaying information, crafts and food.

Multilingual storytellers will perform in the children’s area in Japanese, Spanish, Russian and Korean; along with a Polish children’s choir, a Chinese Dragon Dance troupe and potentially a tae kwon do demonstration.

Pac Island Grill will provide a taste of Hawaii and Polynesia. Among those represented will be the Arab Center of Washington; the Korean American Parents Association of Federal Way; a Ukrainian arts group; the Hmong Association of Washington; and, tentatively, the City of Federal Way Diversity Commission.
