At least two Federal Way residences were raided by SWAT teams Friday morning as part of a multi-city investigation into a drug-trafficking ring.

“This morning at about 4:00 a.m., several police SWAT teams served eight search warrants from Tacoma to Seattle in support of this investigation,” said King County Sheriff’s Office Detective Jason Stanley in a release.

At least 10 suspects total were arrested and will be referred to the prosecutor’s office for drug, weapon and stolen property-related charges. King County Sheriff officials said there were additional suspects that weren’t located who will also be charged.

“The majority of the search warrants were served in the west Federal Way/northeast Tacoma area,” Stanley said, adding that the main suspect in the case was arrested from the 3500 block of Southwest 339th Place.

When interviewed, Stanley said he knew of at least one other Federal Way residence that was searched, explaining that precise locations were still being reported.

According to the sheriff’s office, detectives during the raids seized heroin in excess of 1 pound, crystal methamphetamine in excess of 4 pounds, liquid synthetic heroin, multiple firearms – some stolen – including handguns and rifles, body armor, about $150,000 in cash and nine vehicles.

King County Sheriff’s Office and Burien Police Department detectives have been investigating the ring since October 2015. The investigation began in Burien but spread to other areas, and Friday’s raid included SWAT teams from the King County Sheriff’s Office, the Washington State Patrol, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, the DEA, the Tacoma Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Seattle Police.
