The Metropolitan King County Council unanimously approved the appointment of Federal Way City Councilwoman Lydia Assefa-Dawson to the King County Communities of Opportunity Best Starts for Kids Levy Advisory Board.

Assefa-Dawson will be serving as the family self-sufficiency coordinator at the King County Housing Authority.

The board is tasked with overseeing the implementation of the Best Starts for Kids voter-approved initiative, which invests in prevention strategies to promote healthy children, youth and families in the community.
