Communities In Schools (CIS) of Federal Way received a Washington Association of School Administrators (WASA) Community Recognition Award for its partnership with Federal Way Public Schools. School board member Amye Bronson-Doherty nominated CIS for its role in serving students by matching them with mentors. The award is presented to a community member or group in recognition of contributions to education. The group was honored at a luncheon May 14.
