City to host Legislative Breakfast Dec. 15

Federal Way’s financial legislative asks include COVID-19 relief, expansion of broadband internet, crime and public safety.

Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell will host the annual Legislative Breakfast event with 30th District legislators via Zoom from 8-9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15.

Ferrell and the Federal Way City Council will be joined on the virtual event by Sen. Claire Wilson, Rep. Jesse Johnson and Rep.-elect Jamila Taylor.

“We are proud of the strong partnerships with have with our 30th District legislators, and the residents of Federal Way should be honored that they have a strong collaborative advocating for them at the state level,” Ferrell said.

The hour-long event will include a discussion of the city’s 2021 legislative asks. Virtual attendees will have the opportunity to provide public comment.

The city’s financial legislative asks include: COVID-19 humanitarian relief, COVID-19 business support, expansion of broadband internet, veterans, crime and public safety, education, community programs, transportation and aircraft issues.
