Bare-butted man haunts trail | Federal Way crime blotter

At 6:51 a.m. April 3 in the 33000 block of 1st Place SW, a woman reported encountering a strange man near a local trail.

Following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

• Pantsless lurker haunts local trail: At 6:51 a.m. April 3 in the 33000 block of 1st Place SW, a woman reported encountering a strange man near a local trail. The woman indicated that the man walked into a nearby apartment complex once he became aware of her, and that he was not wearing pants, because she could see his exposed buttocks. The report notes that other walkers of the trail have reported encountering the same man in his pantsless condition.

• Sex offender at library: At 4:06 p.m. April 6 in the 800 block of South 320th Street, an ex-girlfriend contacted police regarding her ex-boyfriend. According to the report, the ex-girlfriend notified police that her ex-boyfriend had failed to register as a sex offender and that he was currently at the library. The police located the man at the library and took him into custody. He was later booked into the SCORE jail facility.

• Stripped vehicle left in daycare parking lot: At 4:24 p.m. April 6 in the 100 block of South 312th Street, employees of a daycare reported a suspicious looking vehicle in their parking lot. Upon police inspection, it was discovered the vehicle was stolen out of Tacoma. According to the report, the interior of the vehicle had been stripped out, and the engine had been removed as well.

• Manager reports patron refuses to pay bill: At 6:14 p.m. April 6 in the 2200 block of South 320th Street, the manager of a restaurant reported a patron was refusing the pay their bill of $40.20. Police arrested the man for theft for failure to pay a bill.

• Foot pursuit ends in tasering: At 10:23 p.m. April 6 in the 34000 block of 16th Avenue South, police spotted a person known to them. According to the report, the man had several misdemeanor warrants out. When police attempted to converse with the man, he fled on foot. The man was eventually apprehended after being tased.

• Homeowner catches burglar in the act: At 8:35 a.m. April 5 in the 4200 block of SW 323rd Street, a homeowner came home to find his house being burglarized. According to the report, the suspect jumped through a closed bedroom window, and the homeowner followed. The homeowner caught up with the burglar nearby, and detained the burglar until police arrived.

• Shoplifter holding more than stolen goods: At 4:23 p.m. April 5 in the 34000 block of 16th Avenue South, a woman was arrested for shoplifting at Walmart. According to the report, when she was searched, heroin was found on her person.

• Armed robbery suspects return to crime scene: At 9:36 p.m. April 5 in the 28000 block of Military Road South, police responded to an armed robbery call. While police were still investigating the crime, the suspects returned to the scene and were positively identified by one of the victims. Police arrested the suspects. In searching a suspect’s vehicle, a weapon used in another armed robbery was discovered.

• Hungry thief: At 1:54 p.m. April 4 in the 32000 block of 16th Avenue SW, a man reported someone stole food out of the fridge in his garage. According to the report, the man believed someone may have snuck in when the garage door was still open. The report notes the stolen items included eggs, Pepsi, butter and coffee.

• Beer theft: At 1:20 a.m. April 4 in the 34000 block of Hoyt Road SW, a store clerk reported that two males stole beer from the store. According to the clerk, the two males grabbed two 18 packs of Coors Light, and then fled the premises.
