A 31-year-old Auburn man was shot in the head Sunday in an apparent road rage incident.

A 31-year-old Auburn man was shot in the head Sunday in an apparent road rage incident.

About 12:30 p.m. Jan. 2, Federal Way police responded to a call of a shooting at Military Road South and South 304th Street. The victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the head by a suspect in a passing vehicle, according to police. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition and has since been upgraded to stable condition. The victim told police the suspect vehicle had been tailgating him. The victim believes he may have cut off the suspect vehicle while it was exiting the parking lot on the west side of Military Road, just south of 288th Street. The suspect approached the victim’s vehicle on the passenger side in the right-turn lane and fired the shot. The suspect vehicle fled southbound on Military Road. Police are searching for a suspect, who was driving a mid-size black luxury type sedan and has been described as a Hispanic male between 20 and 30 years old with a mustache or goatee.
