I’ve been living on South 316th Street for the last 20 years. For the last two or three years, I have gotten totally fed up with the City of Federal Way’s financial behavior.
I am urging you to vote Jim Ferrell for Federal Way mayor. He is a highly charismatic, confident and experienced leader. He is an effective listener and looks to end wasteful spending on projects not needed.
Skip Priest has been a tremendous community leader and an asset to Federal Way for over 20 years. There is a lengthy list of local organizations with whom he has worked.
Here’s why we endorse Jeanne Burbidge for re-election to Federal Way City Council. We’ve know her for over 30 years and our kids have gone to school together. So, what has knowing her given us the ability to tell you about her qualification?
This is a man of integrity, a man with excellent leadership skills who walks the walk and talks the talk, a man with a vision for the city and its growth, and a man who cares about the community and the people in it. The incumbent has been on city council for 16 years. 16 years? That’s just too long to sit.
I am writing an open letter to the community of Federal Way to open your eyes and really evaluate the issues at hand in our community and the best person on the roster who has addressed those issue, even prior to being on the city council as a volunteer.
Mark Koppang performed exceptionally well at both candidate debates and has validated my vote for Federal Way City Council Position 2.
We support retaining Diana Noble-Gulliford for Federal Way City Council Position 6. Diana has proven her value to the council with her ability to ask clarifying questions and bring together diverse opinions to work collaboratively for common solutions.
Last Saturday (Oct. 19), I was waving signs on the corner of 320th and Pacific Highway South with Martin Moore, candidate for Federal Way City Council position six, along with other supporters.
I live in the north Dash Point Road area of Federal Way. At 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, I believe I possibly encountered the same individuals that scammed letter writer J. Kirwan on repairs to dings on her car.
How can the City of Federal Way say that there is “adequate supply of affordable rental housing” when more than a quarter of all the city’s renters are paying more than half their income on housing?
South King Fire Commissioner Bill Gates, I would expect an attack piece with twisted facts from Jerry Galland, but not from you (“Fire commissioner says Jerry Galland spreads lies and innuendo,” letters, Oct. 23).
The 2013 election campaign, of which I am currently involved, has been the worst ever, filled with lies and innuendo about me and members of our organization.
Maybe I’m new to reading election advertisements and endorsements, but I’ve always thought that when you endorse a person for an elected position that you would be voting for that person.
This school board does not have the children of this community’s best interest at hand and I am quite concerned.
This weekend, I went online to the City of Federal Way’s website and reviewed the Performing Arts and Conference Center (PACC) information. Having been involved on the lending side of loan requests over many years, I feel the information presented at this time does not support the development of this project.
Many did not agree with Angela Davis’ ideas. I don’t agree with many of her ideas. I’m sure many did not agree with her tactics in the 1960s and 1970s, and much of her polarizing history that included membership in the Communist and Black Panther parties, and time in jail.
Did I really just read that The Mirror endorsed Mark Koppang over Kelly Maloney?
I want to tell you why The Mirror’s editorial board got the endorsement wrong for Federal Way City Council Pos. 2.
I am supporting Skip Priest for mayor because the city has done pretty well on his watch.
