Why did state rep. endorse both candidates in same race? | Election letters

Maybe I'm new to reading election advertisements and endorsements, but I've always thought that when you endorse a person for an elected position that you would be voting for that person.

Does Federal Way have a different system? To the point, State Rep. Linda Kochmar has appeared to have endorsed both Kelly Maloney and Mark Koppang for Federal Way City Council Position 2 (see ads pages 13-14, Federal Way Mirror, Oct. 18).

If this is true, and a mistake has not been made be any party in assumed endorsement or printing, you all might want to take a good look at your 30th District Rep. Linda Kochmar.

Can’t decide, Rep. Kochmar? Don’t try and leave it to people who can. Nothing personal. I just think saying you endorse both is weak and your opinion doesn’t matter to the outcome of the election.
