Mattress store opens

Mattress Discounters is opening 12 locations in the Pacific Northwest. A Federal Way store opened earlier this month at 35105 Enchanted Pkwy S. The company touts itself as the “largest mattress discounter in the West.” Other locations in the region include Tacoma, Tukwila, Covington, Lynnwood, Everett, Seattle, Silverdale and Burlington. The company promises the best price on brand name mattresses, or the mattress is free.

Garden Terrace hires full-time doctor

Garden Terrace Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, 491 S. 338th St. in Federal Way, has hired a full-time on-site physician. Harpreet Kaur, M.D., is the first full-time doctor hired by a nursing home in the state, according to a news release from Life Care Physician Services. In her new position, Kaur will provide patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment. She will work with the Garden Terrace team of nurses, dieticians, therapists and caretakers on behalf of each of her patients. To learn more, contact (253) 661-2226.
