Dick Mayer selected as Federal Way Lion of the Year

Members of the Federal Way Lions Club selected popular community activist Dick Mayer as their 2015 Lion of the Year.
Mayer can be seen at many community event and has a heart for all people in need. Two of his special passions are the annual Relay for Life and the Lions Helen Keller Basketball Challenge, which he chairs.
Mayer is the kind of person you meet for the first time but never forget his kind caring spirit and warm welcoming smile, according to Lions Club members.
“Lion Dick always goes the extra mile and epitomizes an attitude of being a builder,” said Lions President C.T. Purdum during a recent ceremony.
“Dick is one of the most encouraging people I have ever met,” added fellow Lion member Bob Darrigan.
Those who have the pleasure of knowing Mayer say they appreciate his timely calendar updates, which encourage everyone to support other service clubs and foundations that enrich Federal Way citizens.
