• There was one vehicle theft reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
• Burglary: At 4:20 a.m. in the 32900 block of First Avenue South, there was a report of a commercial burglary.
• Hit-and-run: At 10:39 a.m. in the 900 block of South 348th Street, there was a report of a hit-and-run traffic accident.
May 6
• There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Flower planter theft: At 10:55 a.m. in the 2000 block of South 298th Street, the victim called in to report that their flower planter was stolen from the street. The planter was reported to cost $100.
• Scammed out of $7,000: At 12:53 a.m. in the 4200 block of Southwest 337th Place, the victim reported that they were scammed. They said that they believed they were talking to a Microsoft employee who convinced them to buy $7,000 worth of prepaid gift cards before they realized it was a scam.
• Immigration fraud: At 3 p.m. in the 34000 block of First Circle South, officers investigated a fraud involving immigration papers. The reporting party stated that someone he knew had falsified his signature on immigration papers in order to get her kids’ visas. The reporting party said that the kids are not his biological children. Due to a lack of suspect information, this case is inactive pending leads.
• Woman assaults juvenile: At 6:06 p.m. in the 30000 block of Seventh Avenue Southwest, an adult female approached a juvenile victim while they were sitting on a swing near a park. The suspect is known to the victim because she is the mother of one of the victim’s close friends. The suspect started yelling nonsensical things at the victim before hitting the victim in the face with a small umbrella. The victim experienced momentary pain but no observable injuries. The suspect was issued a citation while also being booked on a warrant.
May 7
• There were three vehicle thefts reported, and four vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Sex offense: At 1:28 p.m. on South 288th Street, there was a report of a sex offense.
• TikTok harassment: At 6:14 p.m. in the 3700 block of Southwest 330th Street, a woman reported that she met a man through TikTok, and she was speaking to him through TikTok, but she stopped responding to his messages after a day. The woman said that the man then told her that he had found her address and he was planning to send her a letter. Officers advised the woman to block the man and also contact the police department where he lives in Texas.
May 8
• There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Hit-and-run: At 4:56 a.m. in the 37500 block of Eighth Avenue South, officers responded to a hit-and-run.
• Taser at school: At 9:51 a.m. at a Federal Way school, security heard a taser being deployed. The student with the taser was contacted and willingly provided the taser. He said that he did not know it was illegal to bring a taser to school. Charges referred to the prosecutor. Student released to parent.
• Man thought his car was stolen: At 1:22 p.m. in the 33700 block of 21st Avenue Southwest, a man reported that his car was stolen, but he later realized he had just forgotten where he had parked it.
• Woman with a dildo knocks on door: At 1:23 p.m. in the 400 block of South 321st Place, the reporting party said that an unknown woman who appeared to be crying walked through his backyard. He said that she was an Asian woman in her mid-30s wearing a white T-shirt and white leggings. The woman later returned and knocked on the reporting party’s front door aggressively, holding a dildo. The woman then stated, “Mind your business,” and then left. The reporting party said that he did not know the woman, but he wanted to report the incident to the homeowners association and requested a case report. The reporting party was advised to call 911 if she returned.
• Possibly sex trafficked minor: At 2:06 p.m. on South 308th Street, officers received a report that a minor was possibly being sex trafficked. Officers contacted the mother, who reported the concerns, but found no probable cause.
May 9
• There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Robbery: At 3:25 a.m. on First Avenue South, officers viewed a possible robbery in progress. Burglary, assault with a firearm, rape and obstructing justice were also reported.
• Homeless family found in field: At 12:34 p.m. on Enchanted Parkway South, a family experiencing homelessness was located in an open field with a six-year-old. The family recently lost their home to an apartment fire. The child seemed to be in good health. Shelters were called, but many were full and had waitlists to enter due to recent evictions. Mobile crisis responded to provide further assistance. The family was provided with additional services they can access during the coming week.
• Robbery: At 3:36 p.m. on 16th Place Southwest, officers responded to a carjacking. Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim and developed probable cause for first-degree robbery. Surveillance video showed the robbery, but it did not assist officers in locating the suspects.
May 10
• There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Burglary: At 12:23 a.m. on 16th Avenue South, officers responded to an in-progress burglary. The suspect was located a short distance away matching the description given by security who was observing this on live video. The suspect had in his possession burglary tools and the cameras that were stolen from the location. The suspect was booked into jail, and the tools were booked into evidence.
• Burglary at Macy’s building: At 12:45 a.m. on South Commons, officers were dispatched to an in-progress burglary at the old Macy’s building in the Commons Mall. A person of interest was detained, identified and then released.
• Robbery: At 4:01 p.m. on 16th Avenue South, the victim reported that he was robbed at gunpoint and beaten up, and his phone was stolen. Upon interviewing the victim, it was determined that a friend coordinated a meetup between friends for the victim to trade goods for a gun. Upon doing so, the subject, trading the gun, along with six others, beat up the victim and stole his belongings. The suspects were unknown to the victim but known to the victim’s friend. The victim had apparent minor injuries.
May 11
• There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
• Bicyclist struck: At 10:42 p.m. at South 344th Street and 16th Avenue South, officers responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and a bicycle. The bicyclist was struck while crossing a street. The person suffered a femur fracture and bruising around the left eye, and possible internal injuries. The driver remained on scene. No probable cause for a crime was established.
