March 24

There was one vehicle theft reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Female crashes into parked car: At 2:42 a.m. in the 27900 block of Pacific Highway South, officers responded to a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a parked car in the parking lot of an apartment complex. Upon arriving on scene, officers found a single female occupant passed out in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Following the removal of the female from the vehicle, officers found probable cause for driving under the influence, and the female was arrested and booked.

Whipped cream theft: At 12:58 p.m. in the 100 block of Southwest Campus Drive, officers responded to a shoplifting report at Winco. Employees detained a male after observing him conceal a bottle of whipped cream and pass all points of sale. He also had two other items. The male was not arrested due to the total amount of items stolen being $27.66.

March 25

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Intoxicated at Dick’s: At 2:47 a.m. in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, officers were dispatched to Dick’s Drive-In for two males who were sleeping in a running vehicle. Upon investigation, the driver of the vehicle was arrested for DUI. The vehicle was released to the family.

Encampment: At 11:23 a.m. in the 33300 block of Pacific Highway South, officers were made aware of an illegal encampment. The encampment was tagged with a notice of trespass and a vacate date, and resources were provided. The case is for information at this time.

DEA arrest: At 4:14 p.m. in the 1200 block of South 320th Street, the DEA reported drug activity at the listed location involving a known subject. The subject exited a Safeway restroom, and he was detained and booked into jail.

March 26

There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Flipped vehicle: At 12:54 a.m. in the 31900 block of 36th Avenue Southwest, officers arrived on scene and observed a traffic accident with a flipped-over vehicle. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

March 27

There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Man in Tesla steals a lighter: At 4:42 a.m. in the 2500 block of South 320th Street, the reporting party advised that a man stole a $5 lighter and then fled in a white Tesla. The reporting party said that he could identify the suspect if he saw him and that he wanted the suspect arrested.

Car stolen: At 7:50 a.m. in the 2400 block of South Star Lake Road, the reporting party stated that he left his vehicle running to warm it up before leaving for work, and unknown suspects stole the vehicle. No suspect information.

Male fighting security: At 2:02 p.m. in the 33700 block of 21st Avenue Southwest, officers responded to a male physically fighting with a security officer at Fred Meyer. The male resisted police while he was being placed into custody. Multiple victims provided recorded statements to police, and the male was arrested by citation. Charges were forwarded to the prosecutor’s office.

Cracked window: At 3:15 p.m. in the 2800 block of Southwest 341st Court, the reporting party stated that within the last week, a window on his house was cracked. The reporting party stated that he believes that one of the children from a neighboring home cracked it because they are constantly throwing random things in his backyard. The reporting party stated that he has spoken to the parents of the children and is obtaining a quote to fix the window. The reporting party stated that he wanted documentation for small claims court.

Armed robbery: At 9 p.m. in the 33700 block of 21st Avenue Southwest, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery. No injuries occurred. A watch was stolen by a suspect holding a handgun. Officers were able to locate security footage that showed the suspect’s face.

March 28

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

DUI crash: At 3:23 a.m. on Weyerhaeuser Way South, officers were dispatched to a vehicle accident. Through an investigation, it was found that the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested for DUI. Property damage was cited.

Gunshot wound: At 5:40 a.m. on Ninth Avenue South, officers were dispatched to the hospital for a patient who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. No suspect information at this time.

Possible gang member with a BB gun: At 11:48 a.m. on South 320th Street, officers stopped a man for driving while his license was suspended. Through investigation, officers found that the man had a gun, which was later confirmed to be a BB gun. Additionally, methamphetamine was found in his vehicle. A drug violation case was sent to the Federal Way prosecutor’s office, and the man received a citation for driving while his license was suspended. The man also allowed an officer to photograph his gang-related tattoos, and the photos were sent to the gang unit.

Copper theft attempt: At 3:10 p.m. on South 336th Street, unknown suspects accessed a heat pump and appeared to have been attempting to steal copper, but were unsuccessful. Despite no copper theft, because of the damage to the unit, it was ruled a total loss.

Possible prostitution: At 10:40 p.m. in the 1200 block of South 324th Street, officers responded to reports of possible prostitution. The reporting party stated that he had recently bought a storefront next to a massage business. The reporting party noticed male customers arriving late at night and entering the business through a back door. He stated police have been aware of the activity. That night, the reporting party witnessed three Hispanic males exit a white Honda Accord and walk to the back of the property. An officer arrived on scene and did not locate a white Honda in the parking lot. The reporting party stated that he could pass along his information in case more info is needed.

March 29

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and two vehicles were recovered on this day.

Assault: At 1:16 p.m. on South 320th Street, officers responded to an assault with a weapon. Investigation revealed probable cause for second-degree assault.

Vehicle vs. pedestrian: At 7:58 p.m. on South 272nd Street, officers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision. No indicators of impairment were observed from the driver. The male was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

March 30

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Driver asleep in the road: At 4:16 a.m. on Weyerhaeuser Way South, officers located a vehicle stopped in a travel lane. The driver and passenger were both asleep. After conducting an investigation, the driver was arrested for driving under the influence and later booked into jail.

Juvenile assault: At 5:46 a.m. at a Federal Way school, officers responded to an assault between three juveniles. The case will be forwarded to a school resource officer.

Threats with a firearm: At 10:46 a.m. on Pacific Highway South, officers responded to threats with a firearm.

Person deceased in motel room: At 12:26 p.m. on Pacific Highway South, officers were dispatched to the Days Inn motel for an obvious death. Upon arriving, officers located a deceased male inside a motel room. The King County Medical Examiner was dispatched to the scene.

Truck chase: At 6:10 p.m. at Southwest 310th Place and 19th Place Southwest, an officer initiated a pursuit of a white Ford truck bearing a stolen license plate under the suspicion that the truck could be stolen. The pursuit was self-terminated due to traffic and the truck’s driving behavior.

Assault after shoplifting: At 7:50 p.m. on Military Road South, officers responded to an assault call, where they established probable cause on a male for assault after shoplifting several items. The male was arrested by citation and trespassed from the business.

Burglary: At 11:11 p.m. in the 1700 block of Southwest 311th Street, a nonresidential burglary was reported.
