Oct. 28

There were zero vehicle thefts reported and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Encampment: At 1:32 p.m. on South 312th Street, there was a report of a suspicious person within the wood line at the location. Checks revealed an unoccupied, but obviously active encampment with trash strewn about. Notice to vacate with local outreach information was posted. Follow-up required.

Burglar found in house: At 3:46 p.m. on South Star Lake Road, there was a report of a residential burglary in progress. A homeowner stated that they came home to an unknown female in the house. Police arrived, and a female was arrested and booked into jail.

Person inside burning house: At 4:48 p.m. on 42nd Place Southwest, there was a report of a residential fire. The homeowner was found inside the residence and transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition. An arson investigator determined that the fire was accidentally caused by a kitchen stove, which had not been turned off.

Grocery order stolen: At 7:50 p.m. in the 30000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report of a theft. The victim said that they ordered groceries from Walmart, and about 35 minutes after they arrived, they went to pick them up, and they were stolen. The groceries were worth $37.77. The victim said that there had been various drug issues in the area. The victim did not want to press charges.

Oct. 29

There were two vehicle thefts reported and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Baton assault: At 8:55 a.m. on Third Lane Southwest, there was a report that a victim was assaulted with an expandable baton. The suspect struck the victim on the head numerous times. The victim suffered serious cuts to the head and a possible fracture as well as broken fingers when he tried to block the hits. The suspect was described as a Black man, late 20s to early 30s, wearing dark clothing, riding a motorized scooter. The suspect was last seen westbound on Southwest 320th Street. An area check was negative. The victim was transported to Valley Medical Center. No further suspect information at this time.

Burglary: At 8:45 a.m. on First Lane Southwest, there was a report of a non-residential burglary.

Death threats: At 3:21 p.m. on 25th Avenue South, there was a report from a man who said he was on an illegal website messaging women about sexual favors, but he did not actually plan to go through with the request. The man said that he then began receiving requests for $800 in Bitcoin for wasting the girl’s time, and receiving death threats and photos of dead people. No further information.

Driving instructor messages girl: At 7:12 p.m. on Eighth Avenue South, there was a report from a 16-year-old victim who said that her driving instructor had been texting her sexual messages for about one week. The driving instructor texted her after obtaining her phone number without her knowledge. The driving instructor sent her several sexually explicit messages. There is currently a no-contact order between the two parties that has not yet been served. The case was forwarded to criminal investigations and the Kent police.

Possible murder suspect sighting: At 5:52 p.m. on Hoyt Road Southwest, there was a report that someone said they saw a male matching the description of a murder suspect who escaped California custody and is wanted for murder out of Seattle. The reporting party was sent a photo of the suspect and was adamant that he had seen the suspect the prior day, around 5:30 p.m., walking south on Hoyt Road Southwest. The Seattle detective assigned to the suspect’s warrant was contacted.

Oct. 30

There was one vehicle theft reported and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Obstructing justice: At 11:24 a.m. in the 31000 block of 50th Lane Southwest, an officer was checking the area for a stolen vehicle when he noticed a white Honda Civic with a VIN and license plate that did not match. The officers attempted to detain the driver, but he pushed the officer away. The officer attempted to deploy his taser, but it was ineffective, and the male fled in his vehicle. The officer did not pursue the vehicle.

Assault with a firearm: At 4:04 p.m. in the 2000 block of South 320th Street, there was a report of an assault with a firearm.

Shoplifter flees: At 5:36 p.m. in the 2200 block of South Commons, there was a report that a man was being detained after he was caught shoplifting at Target. The man then fled, but officers captured him and booked him into jail.

Crowbar and rock: At 10:44 p.m. in the 100 block of Southwest Campus Drive, there was a report of a man damaging several parked vehicles with a rock and potentially a crowbar. Upon arrival, officers contacted the subject and detained him without incident. Several cars had damage to the windshields and hoods.

Oct. 31

There was one vehicle theft reported and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

DUI: At 2:36 a.m. in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that a subject fled from an accident, and after officers located the subject, probable cause for DUI was found.

Brandishing a firearm: At 8:07 a.m. on Southwest 356th Street and Eighth Avenue Southwest, there was a report that a suspect allegedly pointed a handgun at a victim within Tacoma city limits, but then the victim was followed by the suspect into Federal Way city limits. The victim drove to the Federal Way police station as advised by 911. Parties were separated by the time the victim arrived at the station. The suspect’s plates were identified and returned to a Federal Way address. The case was referred to the Tacoma police due to the incident occurring in Tacoma.

Patient assaults nurse: At 5:57 p.m. in the 34000 block of Ninth Avenue South, there was a report that a patient purportedly grabbed a female CNA from behind and held her tightly while making thrusting motions with his hips. A complete investigation ensued. However, the victim said that she did not want to endure having to see the suspect or participate in any court proceedings if they became necessary.

Nov. 1

There was one vehicle theft reported and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Nitrous and a gun: At 2:44 a.m. in the 32000 block of First Avenue South, there was a report of a vehicle with its engine on in the middle of the road. Officers observed a man slumped over in the driver’s seat. The driver was contacted and eventually woken up, revealing a large bottle of nitrous in the driver’s lap. While frisking the driver, a loaded firearm and a separate extended magazine were found in their hoodie pocket. The suspect did not have a concealed pistol license, and a criminal history check revealed out-of-state felonies. The subject was arrested for first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

Screaming and swearing in Panera: At 8:49 a.m. in the 2100 block of South 320th Street, there was a report of a man screaming and swearing in the dining room of Panera Bread. The man was told to leave by the employees, but he refused. He was placed under arrest and booked into jail.

Ear bitten off during fight: At 2:37 p.m. in the 28000 block of 20th Place South, there was a report of a physical fight in which the victim’s ear was bitten off by his neighbor. The suspect was located, identified and booked into King County Jail.

Nov. 2

There were zero vehicle thefts reported and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Drunk driver crashes into tree: At 9:30 p.m. on 21st Avenue Southwest, there was a report of a vehicle that crashed into a tree. The driver was arrested for DUI.

Caught naked: At 6:06 p.m. on Southwest 344th Street, there was a report that a person was seen in a black mask urinating and committing a sexual act on themself on camera at the compound. Officers did not locate the suspect.

There were zero vehicle thefts reported and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Dead body found: At 9:11 a.m. on South 308th Street, there was a report that a homeowner found a man lying in his backyard who appeared to be deceased. Criminal investigations were called out to process the scene.
