From the sideline: Jillian Chong has cemented herself as a force to be reckoned with this year as a singles player. Her record this spring stands at 10-2. The majority of her opponents have been defeated in straight sets, many without dropping a single game. Of those she has lost against, she had a rematch with one and came out victorious. On the court, Jillian is usually cool and collected, wearing her opponents down with relentless consistency. When she pulls them out of position and they finally offer her the weaker shot she has been waiting for, she fully demonstrates her skill to generate remarkable power and placement. She is equally self-possessed off the court, and has been a linchpin among the varsity players, working hard to improve her game as well as offering her support and encouragement to teammates both at practice and at matches.
