The following is a sample from the Federal Way police log:

Victim of anger management issues: At 8:27 a.m. on Jan 11 in the 35000 block of 16th Avenue South, a victim reported that their driver side rear tire of his car was damaged. The victim told police it looked like someone slashed the tire with a sharp object. The victim offered a potential suspect but was unable to provide evidence the suggested suspect caused the damage.

Father disapproves of dating choices: At 11:38 a.m. on Jan. 11 in the 2000 block of South Star Lake Road, officers were called after the father of a woman’s boyfriend unexpectedly entered her house and began taking her belongings without permission. The woman told police her boyfriend was recently booked into jail for assaulting her. She was advised it was a civil matter, but a police report was filed anyway.

Woman has work items stolen: At 7:16 p.m. on Jan. 10 in the 32000 block of 11th Place South, a woman, who spent the night with her boyfriend, told police she found her vehicle door opened and discovered her glove box had been emptied. The victim said her work ID, work keys and vehicle registration were missing. Officers determined there was no forced entry to the car.

Items taken outside of LA Fitness: At 12:35 p.m. on Jan. 9 in the 35000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, a victim told police that while she was in LA Fitness, her vehicle had been broken into. Officers determined access was gained by breaking the rear window. Items that were taken included the victim’s purse, which had her SeaTac Airport work badge, Social Security card and credit cards. There is no suspect information at this time.

Stolen car left running: At 8:47 p.m. on Jan. 9 in the 2000 block of South 317th Street, a local resident called to report a car running with no driver or passenger inside the car. After a records check on the car, officers determined the vehicle was stolen. The car had extensive damage inside and outside. Police concluded the ignition switch was hot wired. The car was towed by Payless Towing.

Man’s car takes a beating: At 8:18 a.m. on Jan. 8 in the 1600 block of South 359th Street, officers were contacted by a victim who reported he parked and locked his vehicle on the street. When he awoke the next morning, he discovered someone punctured the front driver side tire and two rear tires of his Ford F450. The victim also noticed the driver side front window was broken, apparently from a large rock. No suspects or witnesses were reported.

A regrettable coffee stop: At 9:06 a.m. on Jan. 8 in the 1000 block of South 348th Street, police were contacted by a victim who said she locked her car before going into Starbucks. When she returned to her car, she discovered someone smashed her front driver side window. Suspects did not appear to enter the car, and the victim reported nothing was missing.

You shouldn’t swallow that: At 2:49 p.m. on Jan. 8 in the 1000 block of South 352nd Street, officers were called to Home Depot after store employees detained a suspect for stealing. The suspect voluntarily told police he had warrants out for his arrest and was detained by police. The suspect told officers he swallowed heroin. The suspect was transferred to St. Francis Hospital.

Just get a room: At 3:24 a.m. on Jan. 7 in the 1000 block of South 328th Street, a man was discovered asleep in a vehicle in the EconoLodge parking lot. Management called police and requested that the person in the vehicle be trespassed from the property. The man provided his driver’s license upon request and admitted that he had a warrant with “catch and release” criteria. A promise to appear form was completed and signed by the suspect.

Drunk suspect arrested on felony warrant: At 4:20 a.m. on Jan. 7 in the 27000 block of Pacific Highway South, police responded after a suspect’s mother indicated her son drank too much and was banging his head against the wall. Police learned the suspect had a felony warrant out of King County Sheriff’s Office for residential burglary in the amount of $5,050. The warrant was confirmed, and the suspect was booked into SCORE Jail.

Not in it for the video games: At 5:49 p.m. on Jan. 7 at The Commons mall, security reported an arcade machine had its access door opened and money stolen. The machine was not damaged and no suspects, witnesses or evidence were located.

That’s bizarre reading material: At 3:08 a.m. on Jan. 6 in the 33000 block of 42nd Avenue Southwest, police responded after a victim noticed a bag with his boating documents had been stolen. The victim’s boat registration and title were taken, but nothing else was stolen.

Man skeptical of dating website: At 10:29 a.m. on Jan. 6 in the 33000 block of Ninth Avenue South, a man entered the police station asking to report suspicious activity. The man said he has been using a dating website called Free Snap Hookup and has been talking to multiple women. One woman requested he go to another website so she could run a security check on him before they meet. The man went to the site and entered basic information about himself and used his credit card to pay for it. Since then, the man said he’s received a number of strange emails and believes his web cam is being used to watch him. The man came into the department with his phone duct-taped so no one could hear him talk about the incident or watch him with the camera. Police have not noticed any unusual activity with his bank accounts.

Man won’t leave clinic, arrested: At 12:08 p.m. on Jan. 5 in the 33000 block of First Way South, a suspect refused to leave the Virginia Mason medical center after numerous requests from staff. He was told by police he would be arrested if he did not leave. The man told officers to arrest him, and he was booked into SCORE Jail.

Those aren’t car keys: At 3:29 p.m. on Jan. 5 in the 2000 block of South 320th Street, a victim reported that he discovered someone entered his vehicle and took two gas cap keys but nothing else was stolen. The victim said he was sure his car was locked.

Car gets smashed up: At 6:12 p.m. on Jan. 5 in the 2000 block of Pacific Highway South, a man called police and reported unknown suspect(s) smashed the victim’s rear driver’s side passenger window while it was parked outside his house. The victim said the suspects took a backpack containing an IPad mini and various types of paperwork. The victim reported seeing a dark-colored older SUV. Damages to the victim’s car window was estimated at $400.
