Bank of America recognized TAF as its Puget Sound Neighborhood Builder partner with a check presentation ceremony last week.
TAF was recognized for its commitment to preparing students for college and career through a curriculum focused on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). In 2008, TAF partnered with the Federal Way Public School District to launch TAF Academy, a sixth-12th grade neighborhood STEM school, making it the only public school in Washington state co-managed by a nonprofit and a school district.
The Bank of America Neighborhood Builders program combines leadership development training for an existing and emerging leader and $200,000 in flexible funding to enhance TAF’s mission. It will support TAF’s ability to build capacity for reaching their next goal — educating 15,000 students by 2020.
