Christian Jones named Athlete of the Week

Christian Jones, a senior from Federal Way High School, was nominated by a community member and selected by Washington Interscholastic Activities Association staff as one of the Athletes of the Week for week 26 for his achievements in basketball.

Jones had 18 points and 12 rebounds as the Eagles won their second consecutive state title. They defeated Kentwood 66-54 in the championship game at the Tacoma Dome.

He also plays for the Federal Way baseball team, is a University of Washington baseball commit and an All-American first baseman.

In recognition of their accomplishment, each Athlete of the Week winner receives a congratulatory letter from WIAA Executive Director Mike Colbrese, a commemorative WIAA State Athlete of the Week t-shirt and a certificate.
