Fire Team No. 8, the B Shift Chili Company, won first place at the seventh annual Chili Cook-off last Saturday.

The Federal Way Farmers Market hosted the friendly competition between South King Fire and Rescue and the Federal Way Police Department on Saturday.

The B Shift Chili Company also won the “People’s Choice” award, while Fire Team No. 7, the Jovita Trail Chefs, won second place and Police Team No. 6, the Weapons of Mass Deliciousness, won third place.

The event provided chili, cornbread, salad, drinks and dessert with $10-$12 admission. Ticket sales went to Communities in Schools, the 911 Memorial and toward the Federal Way Farmers Market.

South King Fire and Rescue, Umpqua Bank, East India Grill, Specialty Insurance, Waste Management, Scarff Ford, Woodstone Credit Union, Heritage Bank and Wolf Chiropractic all sponsored the event.
