State regulators fined the owner of Federal Way-based Best Moving and Delivery LLC for failing to follow consumer protection regulations.
The Utilities and Transportation Commission ordered Ivan Ratko to pay a $7,000 penalty for 204 violations of commission rules.
According to the commission, moving companies are required by law to provide customers with signed estimates outlining the agreed terms prior to a residential move, which the company failed to do.
The commission suspended $5,000 of the penalty on the condition Ratko shows his company is complying with consumer protection rules and regulations during a follow-up investigation in six months.
