PREP SOFTBALL: TJ’s Jackson pitches Raiders to 1-0, 10-inning win over Tahoma

The Thomas Jefferson Raiders (1-1) picked up a huge 1-0 win over the fourth-ranked Tahoma Bears in 10 innings Wednesday afternoon in South Puget Sound League North Division action.

The Raiders’ Katie Jackson and Tahoma’s Sammii Jimenez went back and forth all day on the pitcher’s mound, but TJ was able to scratch out a run in the top of the 10th inning.

Jackson, a sophomore, allowed only four hits in her 10 innings of work and two came from Shelby Carter. Jimenez finished with eight strikeouts and allowed eight TJ hits.

The impressive 1-0 win came a day after the Raiders were beaten by Kentlake, 12-7.

at Beamer 7, Puyallup 4

The Titans (1-1) overcame a 4-0 deficit by scoring the final seven runs Tuesday to down the Vikings.

Puyallup scored two runs each in the second and third innings before Beamer tallied two in the bottom of the third. The Titans took the lead for good with five runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Halle Colson finished 1 for 2 with a two-run home run and Shrae Harris-Hogan was 2 for 3 with two runs, two RBIs and a double.

Emma Blauser picked up the win on the mound for Beamer. The junior threw a complete game and allowed only four hits and two earned runs, while striking out five.

at Spanaway Lake 5, Beamer 0

The Titans were shut out Wednesday by the Sentinels. The Beamer offense only had three hits and their defense committed three errors. Alyssa Woods finished 1 for 3 with a double.

Bonney Lake 15, Decatur 2

The Gators lost in five innings to the Panthers Wednesday in their SPSL 3A opener. Lindsey Dickinson finished 1 for 2 with a double for Decatur.
