White paper bags with names, photos and messages lined the edge of the Saghalie Middle School track that lit the darkness during a luminaria ceremony on Friday night to honor lives affected by cancer during the annual Federal Way Relay for Life.

Over 500 cancer survivors and others impacted by the disease walked around the track overnight on Friday through Saturday afternoon to symbolize the dark days of fighting cancer and the morning dawn and surviving.

Over 41 teams raised $58,484 during the Federal Way event that will benefit raising awareness and saving lives from cancer.
