Federal Way park closed from storm damage

The West Hylebos wetlands is closed due to damage sustained during the wind storm this week.

There are several trees across the boardwalk and one large root from a tree took out a section of the boardwalk. Parks Department staff is developing a plan to make repairs and inspect other surrounding trees before the park re-opens.

“Its too early to tell how long it will be closed until we make a thorough assessment,” said  Chris Carrel, communications and government affairs coordinator.

The city said they will keep the public updated on the progress of the park repairs.
