On Nov. 11, the Tacoma News Tribune reported that a 6-year-old Federal Way boy “was recovering satisfactorily” at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital after a “medication error” sent him to the intensive care unit for four days. According to the report, Destiny Brown-Fuhr said her son, Jayde, began vomiting and suffering stomach pains on Nov. 6. The report said that when the boy was taken to the hospital, doctors performed a routine appendix surgery. The report said he developed internal bleeding and was admitted to the ICU, and an attorney for the family said a medication overdose appears to be the cause. According to the report, a spokeswoman said the hospital made a mistake.
