Just three years after the full renovation of Federal Way Memorial Field, there appears to be more work being done.

The first game was a soccer match between Todd Beamer and Thomas Jefferson back on Oct. 19, 2023. The ribbon cutting followed a month later on Nov. 13 and now, updates are coming once again.

The gray track is now gone as it looks like the track will now be a light blue.

According to Bryne and Jones Construction, running tracks depending on the type of surface can last from anywhere from three to nine years. If the surface is a latex/acrylic surface, the track should last three to five years. While a polyurethane running track lasts seven to nine years.

Resurfacing costs approximately 35-50% of the original cost.

The Mirror reached out to Federal Way School District Athletics and Equity Director John Yellam for more information, but has not heard back.
