The Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week of May 1 from Decatur High School is Viliami Puaauli (junior), track and field.

What is your favorite subject/class in school?

Math.

What does it mean to be a good teammate? Why is it important to your success? What is one thing you do to help others around you?

To be a good teammate means to stay optimistic and supportive. This is important because if one win we all win. I am supportive.

If you could have dinner with anyone (living or from the past), who would it be? Why?

Jesus because he is my savior and I have some questions.

You’re on a long road trip, you stop at a gas station. You get one drink and one snack. What are you choosing?

Apple Gatorade and any sour candy.

From the sidelines:

Viliami is currently ranked first in the North Puget Sound League in Shot Put. He continues to set personal records with his latest 47 foot throw. Viliami is also ranked third in the Discus with a best throw of 129 feet 5 inches. He is working hard to return to the WIAA 3A State Track Meet in both events after finishing 11th in Shot Put in 2025. Viliami is also a two-year Varsity Letter Award winner on the Decatur Football Team. Viliami has earned a 3.507 Cumulative Grade Point Average and is currently a full-time Running Start Student at Highline College.
