Multiple organizations partner with WSP to bring resources to Federal Way rest area

The Washington State Patrol is partnering with multiple outreach organizations in King County to provide assistance at the rest area in Federal Way on Friday, April 27.
From 8 to 10 p.m., the following organizations will offer their resources in a joint effort to build relationships with anyone in crisis or need at the Interstate 5 rest area:
• Domestic Abuse Women’s Network
• Valley Cities
• Catholic Community Services of King County
In late 2016, the WSP started a safety improvement project in response to citizen’s safety concerns at the rest area. While increasing its presence at the rest area, Troopers established some of the citizens were in need of community assistance.
The WSP partnered with these local organizations who strive to find long term answers for any struggle that these men, women and children find themselves in. Representatives from these organizations will be on site to assist those in attendance and connect them with resources. All of the organizations are continually seeking and accepting volunteers and/or donations to assist with their missions.
