The Tacoma Rainiers and Cheney Stadium have been selected to host the 2017 Triple-A All-Star Game, the club announced on Wednesday.

The greatest talents from the Pacific Coast League and International League will converge at Cheney Stadium for the showcase on July 12, 2017, which will be nationally televised on MLB Network.

“The growth we’ve had over the past nine seasons is because the fans – and the market in general – have so graciously returned to Cheney Stadium to support this franchise,” said Rainiers president Aaron Artman in a statement. “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate this growth and support than to bring the Triple-A All-Star Game to Tacoma for the first time in franchise history. It will be a huge showcase for not just Cheney Stadium and the Rainiers, but for the entire region, and we’re excited to show it off.”

The Rainiers have reported increased attendance in seven of their past nine seasons, as well as a nearly 500 percent increase in season ticket holders. During the 2015 season, Cheney Stadium hosted 352,521 fans, marking the second-largest single-season attendance mark in franchise history.

The Triple-A All-Star Game has been held annually since 1988, rotating between International League and Pacific Coast League locations. The selection of Cheney Stadium and the Rainiers to host the 2017 Triple-A All-Star Game marks the first time since 2013 that a Mariners affiliate has hosted an All-Star event.
