500 volunteers clean up Federal Way during Community Serve Day | Slideshow

Over 500 volunteers from local churches recently participated in the We Love Our City – Community Serve Day last Saturday.

Volunteers divided into teams and served at several locations in the city, including three community gardens, two schools, the Federal Way Senior Center, Westway Community Center and Hallmark Manor.

Teams picked up 120 bags of litter off the streets, and handed out water bottles, KIND bars, Starbucks cards and groceries to families in need. One team even brought rolls of quarters and dropped by laundromats to pay for people’s laundry.
