Community program about domestic violence set for Saturday in Federal Way

The Federal Way Municipal Court, Tukwila Municipal Court, The Supreme Court Gender & Justice Commission, and St Vincent de Paul Parish present In Her Shoes – a program about domestic violence – from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Social Hall, 30525 Eighth Ave. S., Federal Way.

A community education tool, In Her Shoes is designed for learning about domestic violence and its impacts on the community.

The program focuses on battered women, but approximately 20 percent of the alleged victims in area court systems are males.

There also will be a presentation on the impacts of domestic violence on defendants, victims and families along with ideas on how the community can act.

There is no admission charge.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
