Reign ’98 Purple wins Rainier Challenge Tournament | Briefs

The Reign ‘98 Purple girls soccer team won the Rainier Challenge tournament in Puyallup recently.

The tournament started with a 1-1 draw against Greater Renton FC, a 3-2 win over University Place United the next day and a 2-1 win over Crossfire Premier on Saturday. In the semifinals, the Reign beat Eastside FC, 2-1, qualifying them for the final against Greater Renton FC.

During the championship, the two teams played to a 1-1 tie after regulation. The Reign eventually scored in the first overtime session and held on for the win. The team is coached by James Cecil.

The team includes Jordan O., Kayley C., Alex W., Hanna D., Haley B., Courtney T., Alexis H., Carlie J., Allison A., Courtney C., Madalyn L., Brianna C., Jamie F., Sydney C., Jasmine S., Hannah S., Jasmine P. and Karina P.
