Prep sports wrap: Federal Way boys remain unbeaten on the track; TJ soccer still in first

The Federal Way boys track and field team remained unbeaten in the South Puget Sound League Central Division with an impressive 97-39 win over Beamer Wednesday at Federal Way Memorial Stadium.
The Eagles (4-0) can claim the division title with a win over Jefferson in their final dual meet of the season on Wednesday.
Federal Way got a pair of individual wins from Ezekiel McNeal in the 200 and 400 meters. The freshman won the 200 in 22.87 and the 400 in 50.13. Jordan Pulu also won two events for the Eagles when he took the shot put (45-9) and discus (118-7). In total, Federal Way won all but four events at the dual meet.
Beamer’s victories came from Sean Eidsmoe in the 800 (2:01.98), Austin Hitchcock in the 300 hurdles (42.31), TJ Esekielu in the long jump (19-6) and the Titans’ 4×400 relay team (3:31.84).
Federal Way also got wins from Trenton Pinson in the 100 (11.06), Meron Simon in the 1,600 (4:32.07), Brandon Thornton in the 3,200 (10:16.21), Robert Shelby in the 110 hurdles (14.95), Nathan Jowett in the high jump (5-8), Matthew Chun in the pole vault (11-0) and Johnny Myles in the triple jump (40-4).
The Todd Beamer girls moved to 2-2 in the SPSL Central with a narrow 75-66 win over Federal Way Wednesday.
The Titans got a pair of wins from Mackenzie Hickel in the 100 hurdles (16.96) and 300 hurdles (50.71), Taylor Kartes in the 800 (2:32.64) and 1,600 (5:43.15) and Sydney Rogalia in the 200 (27.55) and long jump (16-8 3/4). Beamer’s other win came from Tiffany Quidichay in the shot put (31-4 1/2).
The Eagles (1-3) got wins from Jaleecia Roland in the triple jump (36-5 1/2) and high jump (5-3), Majerae Gates in the 100 (12.42), Bianca Arizpe in the 400 (1:02.98), Jasmine Johnson in the 3,200 (12:02.23), Jamie Jones in the discus (96-0) and Lydia Berger in the pole vault (8-0).
Boys Soccer
Despite being shutout 3-0 by Auburn Riverside Tuesday night, the Thomas Jefferson Raiders remained in first place in the South Puget Sound League North Division.
The loss dropped the Raiders to 8-4-1 in the ultra-competitive SPSL North. Auburn Riverside (7-2-3) and Auburn (7-3-3) trail TJ by just one point in the North standings.
• The Decatur Gators (9-2-1) remained one point back of first-place Beamer with a 7-0 blowout of Bethel Tuesday. The Gators got a pair of goals from Josh Smith and single goals from Michael Klavuhn, Jimmy Hong, Colten Olson, Jacob Jones and Dominique Dismuke. Conner Adkisson got the shutout in goal.
Baseball
The Decatur Gators blew away Spanaway Lake Wednesday, 14-2, in six innings. The Gators (4-14 overall, 4-11 SPSL South) tallied six runs in the second and six more in the sixth.
The Decatur offense was led by Marc Deeds, who finished 2 for 4 with three runs and three RBIs. Nelson Adkinson was 3 for 5 with three runs and Jake Henderson finished 2 for 4 with two runs, two RBIs and a double. Zach Jacobs picked up the win on the mound.
The Gators gave up runs in just two innings Tuesday during a 6-3 loss to the Emerald Ridge Jaguars. Emerald Ridge scored four runs in the top of the fourth and two more in the sixth.
• Rogers blew out Beamer (7-11 overall, 5-10 SPSL South) Wednesday, 13-3. It was the Titans’ eighth loss in their last 10 games. Rogers’ Devon Barker threw a complete game and allowed only four hits. Richard Apigo finished 1 for 2 with two RBIs for Beamer.
Softball
The Todd Beamer Titans (11-7 overall, 9-6 SPSL South) outscored the Graham-Kapowsin Eagles, 32-1, during back-to-back games Monday and Tuesday. The Titans beat Graham-Kapowsin, 16-0, on Monday and 16-1 on Tuesday.
The two wins clinched the Titans a berth into the SPSL playoffs, which start next week. Beamer was also shut out by first-place Rogers Wednesday, 4-0. The Titans mustered only four hits against Bobby Joe Schaapvelt. Beamer has one game remaining during the SPSL South regular season.
During the two games against Graham-Kapowsin, Beamer senior centerfielder Sarah Petosa finished 8 for 8 with seven runs scored.
On Tuesday, the Titans tallied seven runs in the first and banged out 15 hits. Brianne Grosche finished 2 for 3 with a home run and double and five RBIs and Taylor Winton ended up 3 for 3 with two RBIs and a double.
During Monday’s 16-0 shutout, Halle Colson finished 2 for 4 with three RBIs and a home run.
Emma Blauser got the win on the mound in both games. She gave up two hits on Monday and two on Tuesday.
• The Federal Way Eagles were shut out by Tahoma Wednesday, 10-0. The Eagles (3-11 overall, 2-10 SPSL North) managed only two hits against Jordan Walley. Both of the hits came from Sadie Bynum.
• Decatur (3-13 overall, 2-10 SPSL South) fell to Spanaway Lake, 6-3, Wednesday. The Gators had four hits and Lindsey Dickinson finished 1 for 3 with two runs.
