Thomas Glen (Tom) Nelson was born June 15, 1953, and died Dec. 21, 2012.

He is survived by wife Nancy, daughter Kendra, son Aaron, daughter-in-law Sawyer and a grandchild due in June 2013; father Glenn Nelson; brother Dan Nelson and sisters Lynn Markley and Sue Watson. Tom was a 1971 graduate of Mt. Rainier HS in Des Moines. Upon graduation, he was a reserve police officer for the City of Des Moines. Tom worked for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Wingfoot Commercial Tire and was an owner at Glenn’s Auto Repair.

A memorial service will be held at Wayside United Church of Christ in Federal Way at 6 p.m. Jan. 9, 2013.
