In short track speedskating, Olympic hopeful J.R. Celski of Federal Way skated to a win in the men’s nine-lap time trials with a time of 1:23.981, followed closely by two-time Olympian Apolo Anton Ohno of Seattle with a time of 1:24.500. Trials were held at Berry Events Center in Marquette, Mich. In the men’s four-lap time trial, Celski and Ohno went head to head during the final flight, but it was Jordan Malone of Denton, Texas, who took the top prize at the end of the day with a time of 37.124, finishing just ahead of Celski and 2006 Olympian Anthony Lobello, with Ohno in fourth.
