Softball: Jefferson splits games against Kentridge, Auburn; Beamer loses two

The Thomas Jefferson Raiders (11-4 overall, 9-3 SPSL North) split a pair of games Thursday and Friday. The Raiders lost to Kentridge, 9-3, and beat Auburn the next day, 7-6.

Against Auburn, the Raiders fought back from a 6-0 deficit to tally six runs in the bottom of the fifth and scored the game-winner in the bottom of the seventh. Christi Bruin, Allie Crowe and Lexi Goranson all finished with two hits a piece and Katie Jackson got the win on the mound.

Against Kentridge, TJ trailed 9-1 before scoring twice in the bottom of the seventh on a two-run, home run by Cassidy DeWaele. The Raiders had only six hits in the game, including two by Michaela Patton.

The Todd Beamer Titans lost 6-1 to Puyallup Thursday and 4-3 to Bethel on Friday. The Titans (9-6 overall, 7-5 SPSL South) mustered only three hits against Puyallup.

Against Bethel, the Braves tallied three runs in the top of the eighth inning to break a 1-1 tie. The Titans responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning, but it wasn’t enough. Halle Colson finished 2 for 3 for the Titans.

The Federal Way Eagles (3-10 overall, 2-9 SPSL North) were blown away by first-place Kentlake Thursday, 11-1, in five innings.
