Federal Way 16, Decatur 4

The Federal Way Eagles brought the bats against the Decatur Golden Gators. It was a three-hit afternoon for sophomore Brandham Ponce, including two home runs and a double. Ben Ray and David Bedell both had RBI hits for the Gators in the loss.

Beamer 3, Auburn 1

After falling to the Auburn Trojans one day earlier, the Todd Beamer Titans took game two against Auburn. Nate Clow and Jared Thompson both had a hit and an RBI for the Titans in the win.

Auburn Mountainview 2, Jefferson 1

Alex McBee and Rylee Daugherty combined for an eight-inning no-hitter for the Auburn Mountainview Lions in their win over the Jefferson Raiders. The Raiders got on the board when Mason Delacruz stole second and came around to score on back-to-back errors.

Softball

Jefferson 12, Hazen 3

The Jefferson Raiders are off to an impressive start to the new season after their win over Hazen. Jefferson outscored its first two opponents 20-6.

Beamer 18, Kennedy Catholic 8

The Todd Beamer Titans made a statement when they claimed their second straight win, plating 18 runs in the win over the Kennedy Catholic Lancers.

Boys Track

Decatur 81, Hazen 60

The Decatur Golden Gators earned their second straight win to start the track and field season. Kemuel Santana cleaned house for Decatur in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter runs, while Quinton Dozier won the high- and long-jump events.

Girls Track

Hazen 113, Decatur 22

Tyrasia Haeup-Woolfolk won the long-jump event with a throw of 14-feet, 7-inches to give the Decatur Golden Gators their one event win on the day. She also took second in the 100-meter dash.

Jefferson 3, Auburn Mountainview 2

The Jefferson Raiders continued their winning ways with a victory over the Auburn Mountainview Lions. This time out, Maya Frame took the Raiders No. 1 singles position, but Angie Andreotti came away with the 6-1, 6-1 win. Jefferson’s No. 1 doubles duo of Makaylie Moore and Ally Peterson dominated Kathy Nguyen and Finella Chiang, 6-1, 6-4.

The Decatur Golden Gators struggled to find runs against an impressive Auburn Riverside club. The loss was Decatur’s first of the season in only its second game.

The Federal Eagles and new softball coach Terry Mateus lost their first game of the season.

Beamer 7, Enumclaw 1

Todd Beamer Titans captain JJ Allen is getting stronger as the season goes on. His four goals against the Enumclaw Hornets brings his scoring total to seven goals in the first four games for the Titans. He also had an assist in the win. Greg Romero netted two goals for Beamer in the win.

The Decatur Golden Gators won their second straight game with a victory over the Federal Way Eagles thanks to a hat trick by senior forward Angel Trejo-Delgado. The three goals brings Trejo-Delgado’s total to eight in his first four games.

Auburn Riverside 1, Jefferson 0

The Thomas Jefferson Raiders fell to their third clean sheet of the season in a loss to the Auburn Riverside Ravens.

After a tough loss to Federal Way, the Decatur Golden Gators bounced back with a win over the Enumclaw Hornets. Ben Ray continued his hot streak at the plate with a home run, while senior JV Magruder threw a complete game.

Bellevue 1, Federal Way 0

After plating 14 runs in their win over Decatur, the Federal Way Eagles struggled to find offense in a loss to the Bellevue Wolverines. Federal Way was held to three hits by Brandham Ponce, Gabe Togia and Calvin Turchin.

Boys Track and Field

Kent-Meridian Invite — The Federal Way Eagles took fifth at the invitational while Decatur finished 17th, and Todd Beamer finished 19th. Decatur’s Kemuel Santana took first in the 100- and second in the 400-meter runs, while Claire Hansen finished second for the Titans in the 100-meter hurdles. The Beamer girls 4×100 relay team of Akiya Bell, Kinidy Dayley, Briawna Kelly and Madison Heck finished first with a time of 50.55 seconds. The Federal Way boys team, comprised of Eric Jones, KJ Ridders, Jovan Vongseveng and Anthony Frazier, took second place.

The Federal Way Eagles won their second straight game over the Decatur Golden Gators. A six-run second inning from the Eagles was enough to get them past Decatur. Junior infielder Timothy Hughes led the Gators with two hits, while freshman Mason Hymer provided two RBIs.

The Decatur Golden Gators earned their first clean sheet of the season in their win over the Jefferson Raiders. Angel Trejo-Delgado scored his ninth goal of the season in the seventh minute, and Juan Iribe put the game in the win column for Decatur in the 49th minute. The win was the Gators’ third straight.

“Our motto this year has been ‘Team First’,” Decatur manager Brad Plemons said. “We have talked about changing perceptions of our community around Decatur soccer, and I think it’s working.”
