Federal Way High School senior Jaylen-Wes Williams, basketball, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for Dec. 27.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Math.

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: Basketball and playing X-Box.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My mom and my brother, as well as coach Yattah Reed.

Q: The best advice I’ve ever been given by a coach is:

A: “Don’t give up. Always work hard.”

Q: Describe your pre­-game ritual and favorite post-game meal.

A: Pre – eat and listen to music. Meal – chicken fried rice from Pho Tai.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Want Beef?” by YSN Flow.

From the sideline: FWHS senior Jaylen-Wes Williams has been an example of what Federal Way’s basketball program is known for on and off the court. He has been displaying high level leadership on the court and his coaches and teammates are proud of his work ethic. It is not easy to play the point guard position in the Federal Way program, but Jaylen has the experience, poise and confidence that is needed for the Eagles to have success.
